After School Programs

DVMS contracts with outside vendors to provide supplemental classes to enrich the Montessori curriculum further. Spanish, Music, Dance, Tennis and Soccer are offered throughout the academic year.

Nurturing Young Minds

Science Children explore natural forces that shape our world, such as magnetism, gravity, light, and volcanoes, through engaging, easy, hands-on experiments. Sensorial Through carefully designed materials that isolate specific qualities like size, texture, or color, children refine their ability to discriminate, classify, and concentrate. Botany Learning about plants, including their life cycles, different parts, how these parts are classified, how plants grow, and how to care for them. Geography & Culture Exploring the seven continents, their unique land and water formations, weather patterns, diverse biomes, and rich cultures, children engage with puzzle maps and interactive, hands-on activities to deepen their understanding. Language Arts Phonetics, letter symbols, early reading development, building reading fluency, introduction to grammar, letter formation and printing. Mathematics Hands-on activities that foster the development of fundamental math skills, including quantity identification, numeral recognition, pattern formation, and basic operations. Practical Life Building essential everyday skills, encouraging independence, concentration, organization, and coordination through jobs such as pouring, spooning, tweezing, sweeping, scrubbing, and dressing. Zoology The study of living organisms, including the five groups of vertebrates—fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals—and various invertebrates. They learn about their life cycles, body parts, and habitats.
