Montessori @ Home
Creating a Montessori environment at home is easier than you might think and helps extend your child’s learning and independence beyond the classroom. By setting up thoughtfully designed spaces, you can encourage your child to explore, make choices, and take ownership of their activities.
Start with simple, child-sized furniture like tables, chairs, and shelves to give your child easy access to materials. Organize items to promote order and independence, using baskets, trays, and clearly labeled containers for toys and supplies. Incorporate practical life tools such as small brooms, child-safe kitchen utensils, and watering cans to involve your child in everyday tasks.
To make it even easier, we’ve curated a list of products that our teachers recommend to help you live Montessori at home. You can find these items on our DVMS Amazon shopping page “found here,” where we’ve selected tools and materials to inspire your child’s natural curiosity, confidence, and love for learning.
