Nelita Antezana – Outdoor Classroom (Outdoor Education Coordinator)

Nelita has been teaching children in the Bay Area for the past 15 years and previously owned her own preschool in Lafayette. When she is not working with children, Nelita loves traveling, hiking, and singing.

Ashley Seaver – Outdoor Classroom (Assistant Teacher)

Ashley was born and raised in the Bay Area and started working at DVMS in 2013. Ashley’s strengths in the Montessori philosophy, health & nutrition, along with her love of young children, bring a valuable aspect to the students’ learning experience. She contributes her passion and dedication in art awareness to our community as a teacher by day, as well as a brilliant makeup artist by night. Miss Ashley’s hobbies include painting and a variety of cooking styles. She is excited to bring joy and art to the children’s’ daily learning experience.

Katie Moreno – Movement Teacher

Katie graduated from UC Santa Cruz in 1999 with a Bachelor Degree in Psychology and a minor in Education. Prior to being a part of the DVMS family, Katie taught at a preschool and worked with children at a mental health counseling agency in Sitka, Alaska. She also worked at a group home for adolescent girls in Seattle, WA. Katie received her Yoga teacher certification in 2006 while living in Southern California and then began her career as a yoga instructor. Katie always hoped to return to a school setting. The opportunity to be the Movement Teacher at DVMS presented itself at the perfect time and perfectly combines the work she has done with children and teaching yoga. Katie continues to teach yoga classes and loves her role as the DVMS Movement teacher. Katie is a native to Lafayette and lives in Walnut Creek with her husband, two kids, three dogs, and two cats. She loves animals, being outdoors, and spending time with her family.

Lexi Hurd (Extended Care Teacher)

Lexi Hurd resides in Martinez with her partner Aidan and their daughter, Hazel. Lexi graduated from Alhambra High School in 2020 and is currently pursuing a Social Sciences degree, specializing in Early Childhood Education at Diablo Valley College. Lexi began working with children teaching swim lessons at the YMCA where she decided she wanted to move forward with a career in teaching. Lexi’s favorite way to spend time is playing with her daughter, Hazel. Lexi loves working with children and is excited to continue her journey at DVMS!
